Shimon Peres Prize for the HfJS and Tech2Peace

News Special Dates Press

Tech2Peace was awarded the Shimon Peres Prize jointly with the HfJS for the project “Upholding Dialogue in Times of Crisis—Examining Jewish-Muslim Relations in Times of War and Crisis.” We are delighted to receive this special recognition and extend our heartfelt congratulations to Tech2Peace on this important award.

The Shimon Peres Prize is awarded by the Federal Foreign Office in cooperation with the German-Israeli Future Forum Foundation. It honors the memory of former Israeli President and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shimon Peres and recognizes young German and Israeli professionals and leaders who are particularly committed to shaping German-Israeli relations. The prize is endowed with 10,000 euros.

Through the award-winning project, Tech2Peace is committed to maintaining dialogue between Jewish and Muslim communities even in times of war, crisis, and growing polarization. The focus is on encounters, mutual understanding, and spaces where difficult questions can be discussed together in a respectful manner. The HfJS is proud to support this project as a partner and to benefit from the collaboration.

The award ceremony in Berlin was a deeply moving and dignified celebration. Among the guests were Federal Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, Shimon Peres’ children Zvia Walden and Yoni Peres, Governing Mayor Wegner, and Christina Bermann-Harms, the new director of the German-Israeli Future Forum. Our rector, Andreas Brämer, and Tech2Peace co-founder Uri Rosenberg were also in attendance.

We thank Tech2Peace for this impressive commitment and view the award as an encouragement to further expand our collaboration for dialogue, understanding, and democratic cohesion.
