All about the Levkoviches
With subtle humor, a warm gaze and a keen sense of family tensions, All About the Levkoviches tells the story of a rapprochement under difficult circumstances. After the death of his wife, the aloof Budapest boxing coach Tamás is surprised by his estranged son Iván, who emigrated to Israel years ago and now lives a strictly religious life. Not only does the past return with him, but also a little grandson whom Tamás has never met. Between grief, guilt and old wounds, a moving father-son drama unfolds that touchingly combines Jewish tradition, generational conflict and universal questions of closeness, forgiveness and identity.
The film will be shown in the original language (Hungarian/Hebrew) with English subtitles.
The Jewish Film Club Heidelberg is a cooperation between the university and the Karlstorkino, which is supported by the city of Heidelberg.
