Guns & Moses

As part of the Heidelberg Jewish Film Club, our collaboration with the Karlstorkino, we are presenting the thriller *Guns & Moses* (USA 2024, 94 min.) by Salvador Litvak.

Rabbi Mo Zaltzman preaches peace—but when an attack shakes his congregation and the police present a scapegoat, he senses that the truth runs deeper. Against all warnings, the rabbi begins his own investigation and becomes entangled in a deadly web of corruption, hatred, and cover-ups. As the threat escalates, the man of God must make a decision that will forever change his understanding of faith.

In the discussion following the screening, Prof. Klaus Davidowicz (University of Vienna), director of the Jewish Film Club Vienna and a scholar of Jewish studies, will speak with the audience about Jewish representation in cinema, antisemitism, questions of faith, and vigilantism in film.
