2020_02_05_LogoA Radio Program/Podcast on
Muslim- Jewish Relations

Based on a radio program and a podcast (produced in collaboration with the Hessischer Rundfunk), the project aims at bringing research on Muslim-Jewish relations to a wide nonacademic audience, both in terms of age groups and religious backgrounds.

The radio program aims at addressing the increasing alienation between Jews and Muslims in Germany, driven by Islamophobia, Muslim Antisemitism, and the conflict in the Middle East.

By focusing on the philosophical, cultural, and political dimension of Muslim-Jewish relations the radio program seeks to explore a complex relationship from the perspective of several “minor disciplines”, namely Jewish Studies, Islamic Studies/Islamic Theology, Israel Studies, and Middle East Studies.

Based on interdisciplinary topics such as Jewish history in the Middle East, Muslim-Jewish philosophical dialogue, or majority/minority relations the radio program seeks to build a platform for alternative scholarly voices that stand against the rising discourse of intercommunal confrontation.
