הנה - Heidelberg Conference on Hebrew Studies

During the week of February, 16–22, 2026, the Heidelberg University of Jewish Studies will offer a Hebraistic conference. The conference aims to cover the entire 3,000-year history of Hebrew . Modern and ancient Hebrew research, didactic considerations and experiences from university and school teaching will be brought together.

The aim of the conference is to present and discuss Hebrew qualification projects (doctorate, post-doc, habilitation). In addition, didactic, pedagogical and content-related challenges and requirements of Hebrew teaching at schools and universities will be jointly reflected upon. Interested parties are cordially invited to register by e-mail before the actual call for participation . The conference is primarily aimed at early career researchers in the field of Hebrew linguistics, but participation is open to all.

Presentations should last approximately 10-20 minutes and be followed by a plenary discussion. Contributions from all language levels of Hebrew are welcome. The conference and primary language of presentation will be German; individual presentations may be given in English.
