Internationalization Office

The Hochschule für Jüdische Studien (HfJS) has established manifold international collaborations over the last couple of years including an English joint master’s degree as well as several initiatives on institutional levels. With its vast array of academic expertise and offerings in the field of Jewish Studies, the HfJS has solidified its place as one of Europe’s preeminent centers of excellence in the field continuously providing advanced scientific perspectives for the discipline.

Currently, the HfJS holds strong institutional bonds and fosters academic exchange with the Hebrew University Jerusalem (Israel), the Ben-Gurion-University of the Negev at Beer Sheva (Israel), the Karl-Franzens-University Graz (Austria), and the Paideia-Institute in Stockholm (Sweden). In addition, HfJS chairs maintain productive work partnerships with colleagues all over the world, for instance, in Argentina, England, France, Italy, Canada and the US.

To build on already established partnerships and to further expand internationalization, a dedicated Internationalization Office was recently established at HfJS in December 2022. It provides administrative support to the rectorate in the maintenance and further development of international partnerships and cooperative study programs as well as in the initiation of new exchange programs for faculty and students. Furthermore, it coordinates cooperation with Heidelberg University regarding internationalization and develops a sustainable internationalization strategy at the HfJS’s institutional level.
