Circle of Friends
The Circle of Friends of the Hochschule für Jüdische Studien e.V (HfJS) was founded in 1989 in order to support the HfJS and its members. The Circle of Friends aids the HfJS in the fulfillment of its various research and teaching duties and seeks to widen recognition of its work within the broader public.
The Circle of Friends offers financial assistance to the university through the sponsorship of teaching positions, the acquisition of equipment and literature for the institute, as well as stipends for needy students.
The Circle of Friends seeks to deepen the knowledge of the Jewish culture of Germany and Europe beyond merely the HfJS through the scheduling of lectures on themes taken from the general area of Jewish studies, and through excursions to events of cultural importance as well as to memorial sites.
